The Swedish Association of Senior Hospital Physicians (Sjukhusläkarna) is a professional association and trade union of senior hospital physicians in Sweden. The main purpose of the association is to protect the professional, social and financial interests of the members and to promote their interest in matters concerning medical education and scientific activities.
The Swedish Association of Senior Hospital Physicians is one of 8 professional branches in The Swedish Medical Association (SMA). It is the largest professional branch with 23 000 members. We organise clinical professors, consultants, assistant consultants and senior registrars.
Information about the association’s activities is communicated to members primarily through this website, newsletters, social media, and the magazine Sjukhusläkaren. The magazine is published with 5 issues a year.
The Association has its office located at Villagatan 5, Stockholm.
By representation in all preparing and decision-making bodies in The Swedish Medical Association, The Swedish Association of Senior Hospital Physicians has great possibilities to act upon and to influence the policy of SMA in various professional affairs.
